How Long Will It Take For Liver Enzymes To Lower Post Alcohol Intake?
I have to have surgery and my liver enzyme s are high. My General practitioner had said when he did a sepetate test as to why they e r re elevated that was due to alcohol. I am not a daily drinker of alcohol but I DID take my blood test after was out at a company party and did have alcohol the night before..(maybe a little too much )...I am due for another blood test bfore surgery for drs to feel okay with my levels bfore...my question is... how long does it take f for my enzymes to lower after obstainong from alcohol?

It depends upon the quantity and duration of consumption. Drinking a lot of alcohol within a day or two of the test can cause abnormal results.
The liver enzymes may take about 2 to 6 weeks to return to normal levels after total abstinence of alcohol.
