How Long Will It Take For The Ear To Hear Properly After An Infection?

I started taking amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium tablets yesterday. I have taken 3 doses already and my ear is still plugged. I can not hear out of it. The doctor said yesterday that my ear was ready to burst and had never seen an ear infection as bad as mine was. I wanted to know how long it will take so i can hear out of my ear again.

hello. it is likely that you have an ear infection with pus inside the ear, which is causing the hearing loss. it will normally take 2-3 days for the infection to subside, and then you will be able to hear better. thanks
