How Long Will It Take To Recover After Tibial Fracture?

Hi, I am 58 years of age and had a tibial plateau fracture in May last year which required surgery and insertion of knee plate, screw and plate down my leg. I spent 7 weeks in a wheelchair -non weight bearing and then had physio. I started to improve and then went backwards with severe pain and discomfort in my leg/knee, lower back and hips to the point where I could hardly walk. Two weeks ago I had the tibial screw and plate removed and am on the road to recovery, however, would like to know what is a reasonable time to be free of pain in my knee/leg. I do have some low back problems associated with my gait and have been having physio and exercising regularly, however, the pain in my leg can be quite intense at times and I'm worried that it won't go away.
