How Long Will Shoulder And Clavicle Injury With Pain Take To Heal?

Hello, I recently fell off a horse and hurt my shoulder and collar bone, i had an xray but i didn't get to see it, and got told it was just soft tissue damage. The hospital gave me a sling but I'm not sure how long i should wear it for and how long it is suppose to heal. Can you give me some more information about my injury please, also when i move my shoulder the bones click and i get sharp hot pains, thank you x
