How Long Will The Pain From Pneumonia Shot Last?

Thank you! Got a pneumonia shot on April 1 (april fools). Did a little exercising (wall pushups) and today it really hurts. (down to my fingers) How long will this last? I am 81 years old, but healthy as a horse and depressed b/c of this. YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

Normally, strenuous exercise should not be done after a pneumonia shot, as it may aggravate the local symptoms of pain, redness and swelling. However, mild exercises are not contra-indicated after a pneumonia shot. Local symptoms of pain, tenderness and swelling after pneumonia shot usually last mostly up to 72 hours.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
