How Long Will The Side Effects Of Mirena Persist After Removing?

Hi Dr, I had the mirena inserted 6 weeks ago but since then I ve been having palpitations, anxiety, chest pains. Been to hospital, drs say heart and chest are normal. They diagnosed it as anxiety which I m not happy with, is it related to the mirena as all this started after the mirena was inserted. How long after removing it will I start feeling like my old self again? Thanks for any advice, Sharmaine.

Hi, I think it can be a side effect of mirena but it is very rare because mirena acts locally. Hormone levels in your body is not raised after using mirena to a great extent. So, it can be due to stress also. I don't think removing mirena will help. I think you should wait for some time and just relax. Hope I have answered your question.
