How Long Will There Be Drainage Of Blood After Rupturing Eardrum?

I ruptured my left eardrum and it will not stop bleeding. Making an appointment with an ENT and just took my first dose of antibiotics and ear drops. How long should there be drainage/blood? The Urgent care physician told me that my ear drum was almost completely gone.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Regarding your query for rupturing of ear drum, concern bleeding and treatment. Here I would like to tell you that fortunately ear drum has got tremendous power of regeneration in traumatic rupture cases, but for good healing we should care for these-

1- Keep ear clean and dry (never put any ear drop ).

2- Took anti inflammatory.

3- Took anti histaminic.

4- Cover the ear canal with a piece of cotton.

5- Antibiotic.

It has been seen that if above factors are to be taken care of than ear drum may regenerate in 8 to 10 days.

Regards.
