How Much Breast Milk Should Be Provided To The 6 Months Old Baby?

Hi, I have a 6.5 months old baby. He has started eating solid foods 2-3 feeds a day. Till then he was exclusively breastfeed. He has never been bottle fed. After 2 weeks I have to join back my work. He will be in day care centre for approximately 10hrs. I would be expressing breastmilk n providing to the caregiver. So I wanted to ask approx. how much breastmilk should be provided? HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Breast milk would still be his main source of nutrition till he is a year and it is very good that you plan to express.

He would still need at least 500ml to 600 ml a day at his age, some babies use more , up to 800ml or more.
Every baby is different.

When you are home with him for a full day, you may want to try to express and give to him so that you can measure and get an idea of his general needs.

I hope this helps
