How Normal Are Intermittent Rapid Heart Rates?

my heart is beating around 55/60 per min, i eat well and exersice reguraly. but now and then i get these rapid heart beats. when for example lying in bed resting, it kickstarts and pounds really hard for a few seconds, then return to normal. its very scary, is this normal?

Transient increase in heart rate is quite common and it can happen after physical exertion as in your case. This is absolutely normal and nothing to worry about it.
