How Often Can Goldenseal Be Taken?

Hello, my name is Linda and I have used Goldenseal before to help my IBS. It does a wonderful job and then I get lax and do not take it. Then I found out that I should not be taking it all the time. Should I take this in two-week intervals? How often can I take it and I have seen it sold by itself and as a combination with Echinacea. Which should I buy? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The goldenseal is a herb with multiple levels of actions on the intestine. Daily intake of 250-500 mg is recommended for best results. No, the combination is recommended to be consumed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
