How Old Were You When You First Used A Tampon?

im 15, i got my period the last day of christmas break of this year (well i guess last year, cause i was before new years) but anyways iv always used pads, but because summer is here , im guessing i should start using tampons for when i swim. Iv tried a few times to put one in, but i wimp out after i get it like 2 centemeters in. I squatted over a mirror to help me, and i saw the hole its supposed to go into, and it does not look big enough for a tampon. Anyways, how old were you when you got your period, and how old were you when you first started using tampons. Any tips to help me out with this would be greatly apreciated
