How Reliable Could The Heart Monitor Be Since It Showed Less Pulse But Did Not Have Any Symptoms?

How reliable is the heart monitor from HeartCare Corp. in Ewing NJ. I had a monitor on for two weeks and they said it showed my pulse dropped to 35 in the afternoons. I question that, because never had any symptoms and have checked myself. I have had a slow pulse all my life when at rest ( 40 s ).

Hi welcome to HCM.
I understand your query and concern.
Clinical examination and palpation of pulse rate is always accurate than a monitor. So I advise you to get your pulse and blood pressure monitored manually. If still its dropping it could be due to Congestive heart failure.I advise you to get an ECG,2 D Echo, lipid profile immediately to confirm the diagnosis. If if the ejection fraction is under 30% you need immediate hospitalisation. Its always advisable to keep the blood pressure under 130/80 mm of hg.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6gm/day.Drugs like Frusemide and Digioxin will help to improve the congestive symptoms.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried food.Oatmeal for breakfast 30-50 gm taken in milk daily will clear the accumulated fat.Avoid smoking and alcohol.Semiannual follow ups are advisable on maintenance. Once the above measures are carried out, good survival can be expected.
Consult a Cardiologist for further expert management.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
