How Safe & Effective Is Metformin For Type 2 Diabetes?
About 8.5 hours ago I took my first dose of Metformin for type 2 Diabetes (diagnosed yesterday). I also had a dose of Lisonopril. About 3 hours later I had two boughts of diarrhea. The diarrhea has stopped but now my jaw is a little sore and the back of my jaw under my ears is swollen. Is this an acceptable side effect or should I be really concerned?
Hello, Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, metallic taste in mouth are some side effect of metformin and these generally tend to subside away gradually with subsequent and regular use of metformin. Carry on with the medicine as metformin is a very good anti diabetic medicine as it helps in controlling LDL levels also.Along with medicines, observe proper dietary control and o regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes also. It is very important to have a meticulous control of diabetes so as to avoid future macro as well as microvascular complications. Thanks
