How Safe & Effective Is Taking Lipitor To Control The Cholesterol Levels?

My cholesterol is 5.02 LDL cholesterol is 3.06 HDL Cholesterol is 0.76 Cholesterol/HDL RATIO 6.6 Triglycerides 2.64 More or less I have similar results for the last 3-4-5 years. My doctor advised me to take the Lipitor but I did not. I m 57 year old and not so physically active. I’m not overweight and feel good. My mother is 80 years old and she has similar blood and cholesterol results. So I want to ask you what to do and if I should start taking some medicine. Thank you
