I m due to have irodotomies performed tomorrow, my eye pressure is fine and I m told this is being done because I have narrow angles, but om very worried about having this done as I ve researched the after effects and lots of negative remarks on various sites, seriously thinking I might take my chances and leave it, what do you think? My vision is fine at the moment, I m 59 and use reading glasses
It seems from the history that you are having narrow angles and will be undergoing laser iridotomies. Laser iridotomy is a safe procedure and it is done to prevent angle closure in people with narrow angles.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for laser iridotomy.
Hope this is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.
Iridotomy is a safe procedure. If you have narrow angles it is better to go through the procedure. Side effects are there in every intervention but frequency and severity matters which is less in iridotomy
