How Safe Is Taking 100mg Of Synthroid To Control TSH Levels?

Hello, I am a 56 yr old female. Had graves disease in 95, had the RAI, had been on 100mg synthroid ever since. I had mono & bells palsy 2 yrs ago. Since then the synthroid doesn t seem to help me. I have been extremely fatigued, really can hardly function, all the symptoms of hypo. Had my TSH tested Monday, was .512, Ft4 1.37, F3 2.9. I would like to try the thyroid gold, but do I still need the synthroid?Thank you.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have graves disease in past and you had RAI. You are on synthroid now. It is external thyroxin hormone. Your past history of mono and bells palsy has no relation. Your TSH is low normal so it suggest borderline hyperthyroidism. Your Free T3 & free T4 levels are normal. So you just need to set the dosage of your synthroid. Consult your doctor and set the dosage according to need to control your thyroid level.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
