How Safe Is Taking Azithral 250 Mg For Chest Infection?

Hi, I am travelling in India and have a chest infection and told the doctor I usually take Xithromax. He has given me the generic, Azithral, 250mg. I am bit nervous of taking this as tend to react badly to some medications (am hypersensitive). I am also asthmatic, have recently had whooping cough (which I am still recovering from) and am allergic to penicilin. In addition to this, I am not sure how many tablets to take. He arranged with the hotel to collect the tablets, and when they arrived, it was in a brown packet, with 10 x 250mg pills in Azithral blister pack (from the hospital accross the road). Should I take one twice a day for five days? (If I should take them at all?) I saw the doc two days ago and actually feel worse today so feel like I really do need antibiotics, all things considered.

Hi
Welcome to HCM
Tab Zithromax and Azithral is same medicine with different brand name. It's a pretty good medicine for chest infection especially in asthmatic if you don't have to high grade fever and just increase cough and chest tightness. But along with antibiotics you would also need to take inhaler containing steroid and bronchodilator.
