How Safe Is Taking Clonil 75 For Depression And OCD?

Sir, i have been suffering from dippression & OCDsince last 8 years. Doctor prescribed me cipralex 10mg & i have been taking.I got relief but not completely fine. From last month, I have been asked by doctor to add clonil 75 along with cipralex 10mg. I am taking but not getting permanent relief. Is it safe to take clonil 75. Till today my depression & ocd is not cured perfectively.Plz guide me.....

Hello Thanks for asking

You have been suffering from depression and OCD since last 8 years. Cipralex 10 mg is giving you partial relief. The doctor then asked you to take clomipramine 75 mg per day. OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder is a disorder relatively difficult to treat. If no response is seen with one SSRI drug (escitalopram) then there is need to add some more drug. Clomipramine is a TCA drug and the drug is safe to use. It will help in improvement of symptoms.

Apart from drugs for OCD attend behaviour therapy sessions and exposure and response prevention technique will help you.
