How Safe Is Taking Fiorcet/codeine For Absence Seizure?

I have petite mals and have been taking fiorcet for years until the headaches became severe. The prescription was changed to fiorcet/cod which worked very well. This was with no refill because my neurologist has since retired. Have gone to a new doctor who has started me on the regular prescription. Now the headaches are worse, throbbing, having to take more of the meds. Want to return to the fiorcet/codeine. What is your opinion? 69 year old woman, 5'2", 110 pounds,
