How Safe Is Taking Medroxyprogesterone For PCOS?

I have been on medroxyprogesteron for 9 days ( I have one more day of pills). I was diagnosed with PCOS and my OBGYN put me on 10 days of medroxyprogesteron (2 pills per day). Tonight I noticed what seems like the begining of my period. SHould I be concerned, or is the timing OK?
