How Safe Is Taking Probiotics For Bacterial Vaginosis?

I unfortunately suffer from BV. metronidazole helps until I get my period and then it comes back over and over, i recently started taking pro biotics and skipped the trip to the doc for another prescription. the symptoms have completely disappeared. should I still take the antibiotics?? or is probiotics enough if there is now no symptoms of BV
