How Safe Is Taking Amoxicillian For Cold Sinus,sore Throat & Headaches?

my son started with a cold sinus problem 3 weeks ago went on amoxicillian 1 week no help and this week crys with pain of headaches and fever n sore throat. The doctor just change antibiotic to alittle stronger one and says its not strep. My son is up with fevers that bother him really bad n throat hurting

Thanks for writing in to HCM.
Kindly relax dont worry. Antibiotics take time to work. Since your son has been given stronger medications he should be alright soon. The fever can be controlled by giving regular doses of paracetamol syrup at a dosage depending on his age.
An over the counter cough expectorant like guaifenesin can be added to release chest congestion.
Give him steam inhalation . if he is capable of doing warm salt water gargle kindly ask him to do that. give him lots of fluids.
