How Safe Is The Usage Of Cephalexin And Bactrim For Staph Infection?

Hi Doctor,I recently was seen by a urgent care doctor because I developed a pimple looking area on the inner part of my wrist I thought it was a spider bite. The urgent care Doctor informed me it was MRSA/Staph Infection and prescribed me cephalexin and Bactrim together is this right? how can I get this I did have a red streak going up my arm. Why does my arm hurt so bad?

MRSA is an extremely common infection. Staphylococcus is common, and when resistant to methicillin, it is called MRSA (or methicillin resistant staphylococus aereus). These infections can be aggressive, leading to destruction of tissue, which can be quite sore and takes time to heal, often leaving a scar if ulceration is present. Red streaks can develop as the infection travels up the drainage channels, called lymphatic vessels.

Most cases of MRSA will respond well to an oral antibiotic, such as Bactrim, clindamycin, or doxycycline. Typically a culture is taken from which it will be known which antibiotics will work best.
