How Safe Is To Take Amoxicillin For Pus In Urine?

hello dr plz I wanna ask u im 10 weeks pregnant & im suffering from pus in my urine my dr suggested to start taking amoxicillin med but i preferred to increase my intake of water & retest my urine after a week.. is it safe to start this medicine.. thanks so much

We worry about bacteria in the urine during pregnancy because these are more likely to become kidney infections (in pregnancy). In fact, most women start their pregnancy with labs that include a urine culture just to rule this out. If you have been diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, your doctor correctly recommended treatment with a medication that is known to be safe during pregnancy.
