Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my wife has just started taking Forteo injections for her osteoporosis, bone replacement. Today is only the second day for the injection and i have a question, concerning removing the needle from the medicine cartridge (syringe). When i unscrewed the needle from the cartridge, I don t know if I was too forceful, because the plastic collar came out with the needle itself. Is that the way it should be? I.e, when I prepare a new injection tomorrow, will there be another plastic collar around the needle, so that I can screw the new needle into the cartridge? Does this happen each time? Thank you for your help.
