How Should A Hand Cut Causing Swelling, Pain And Pressure Be Treated?

Hi. I cut my hand on a rock in the river yesterday and within two hours it swelled to about twice the size it normally is. The cut is about half an inch and looks like u can see muscles with a red string hanging out. I put peroxide and triple antibiotic ointment on it but today its still swollen and hurts from the pressure. Is there anything else I can do or should I see a doctor?
