How Should Birth Control Pills Be Taken?

I have been on birth control since July. I take it on time and have never missed a pill but I have 2 periods a month. I believe I started taking it the wrong time. When I first started it, I took my first pill right after I had finished my period instead of taking it the Sunday after I started my period. Ever since I began taking birth control, I have had two periods a month. Will stopping my pills and starting again correctly on a Sunday after a started period fix this problem?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If your pill has 28 tablets, then take these continuously without any gap. If these are 21 tablet pack, then give a gap of seven days before starting next pack.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
