How Should Chest Bruising With Fever Be Treated?

my 2 year old son has had a bruuse on his chest for over 2 weeks now with little signs for healing. Also, on Tuesday of this week he had a fever all day which at one point got up to 104.1. Do these things have anything to do with each other?
