How Should Productive Cough, Sore Throat, Laryngitis With Discolored Phlegm Be Treated?

Hi Dr. I am hoping for some much needed advice. I have had a productinve cough for over 10 years now. It is made worse after eating, however it is all througout the day. I always have to clear my throat, and the phlegm changes in color, however it is mostly a thick yellowish phlegm. It is so embarassing because it just comes out when i cough. My voice gets a little raspy until I clear my throat. I have tried nexium because they told me I had gerd. I still have the same cough. Please help

Well come to HCM
In my opinion such long standing cough need to be treated with the simple anti histamine Tab Chlorpheniramine maleate three times in day, if this fails to respond then just do nothing because this could be normal phenomenon, because it did just nothing within 10 years being a disease, take care.
