How Should Shoulder Blade And Rib Pain Due To Injury Be Treated?

I am an athletic, 24 year old male. I was doing dips at the gym on monday and suddenly felt a sharp stabbing pain. The epicenter of the pain was (and has continued to be) just below my left shoulder-blade, adjacent to my spine. At the time of the injury the pain also wrapped around my ribs and continued to just under my left pectoral. The pain has lessened since Monday but, being impatient, I went to the gym today and (of course) re-injured it. The intensity of the pain and duration of that initial intensity was less than the first time, but still painful. I assume this is a pinched nerve but am not sure and am certainly not sure about treatment/ duration of treatment. Thank you -Connor
