Vitiligo is acquired pigmentation disease, its true that sometimes the skin where vitiligo is localised sting and burn especially if you are exposed on the sun, the best initially treatment of vitiligo is topical treatment which include a mid- to super-potent topical steroid (such as betamethasone or clobetasol) applied twice daily to the skin.another alternative treatment include tacrolimus 0.1% or calcipotriene 0.005% twice daily topical treatment. You should use a sun protection cream 50 spf everytime you are exposed to the sun.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
