How Should Worsening Gout In The Foot Despite Taking Colchicine Be Treated?

the doctor gave me colchicine for my gout. three pills when it starts. that was 4 days ago. it got better now it is getting way worse in my foot. can i take more? and is there something better out there? i do not have high urich acid but still get the gout alot lately. i am 66 years old and a female.
