Dear doctor, My last menstrual date was May 14th, 2016. 2 days before, I got a positive pregnancy test. I want to know how many weeks pregnant I am. I have to abort the baby but I wish to keep my baby till the maximum period of pills abortion because I feel beautiful being a mother ... Bt my finances does not support. Any how I will have to abort the baby. 1. Please confirm how many weeks pregnant I am? 2. How long can I keep my baby inside my womb and when shall I must take abortion pills to avoid DNC?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As your last menstrual period was on 14th may 2016, you should be 1-2 week pregnant only on today the 9th june 2016.
If you did not want to continue the pregnancy you should go for an abortion as soon as possible. However abortion by medicinal method could be done upto 3-4 months of pregnancy. Delaying it has higher chances to undergo the need of a D & C procedure (surgical abortion).
Therefore if you did not want to continue the pregnancy you should go for an abortion now by consulting a gynaecologist. Abortion earlier in pregnancy has less discomfort & bleeding. It has lesser risk of other complications.
