General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Petogen injection contains 'Medroxyprogesterone' as an active ingredient. It is used as a long acting contraceptive. The average time for Petogen concentration to wear out is about 6 to 9 months. However, some women can get pregnant immediately after stopping as well. The amount of time for which this medicine remains active in the body is not clinically established.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
