How Soon Can One Get Pregnant After Giving Birth To A Baby?

My baby was born sleeping just over 7 weeks ago, I had pp bleeding for around 2 weeks and had no bleeding since, I have had unprotected sex since I stopped bleeding, I took a pregnancy test at 6weeks 3days and it was a really faint positive the line was barely seeable, I took another one at exactly 7 weeks and it was so much darker, I took another one at 7 weeks 2 days And it was even darker and showed up straight away on the test, could it be a new pregnancy?

Hello,

Generally no ovulation takes place after the first four months following a delivery. It is due to something called lactational amenorrhea. More you breast feed your baby, lesser the chances for pregnancy in the first months. You can go for a repeat urine test or a betaHCG assay to confirm whether you are pregnant or not. BetaHCG is the confirmatory test and values over thousands are sure signs of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
