How Soon Does Concerta Help In The Treatment Of ADHD?

Concerta 117 mg for adhd worked the first day (no euphoria) but stopped working the next day and I’m on day 4 and it still hasn’t worked aside from increased energy.. I don’t experience side effects.. but is ineffectiveness a side effect that I have to overcome? A so called adjustment period? Before it starts working again.. is this considered a flatline? How much longer should I wait?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion, you need to consult your doctor. I think you need dose adjustment. You might need higher dose. Initial positive response on first day suggests that drug is working. So no need to change the drug. Subsequent absence of benefits suggest low dosing. So you will definitely improve with high dose. So discuss this with your doctor and plan accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
