How To Abort A One Month Pregnancy?

hello Dra Mia, can you please give me names of an over the counter med that can terminate a 1 month pregnancy? I am from Philippines, abortion or termination is not legal. Please help me find a med that i can buy yo abort this pregnancy. thanks a lot. I am desperate

Hallow Dear,

There are two regimes of medicines for terminating pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation:

1. Tab. Mifepristone followed after 24-48 hours by Tab. Misoprostol

2. Misoprostol only regime : Tab. Misoprostol 3-12 hourly up to 3 doses.

Usually within 24 hours of the last dose of Misoprostol, but not after 72 hours, the abortion takes place.

These medicines are prescription medicines and should be taken only by Gynaecologist's advice and prescription.

These medicines cause developmental abnormalities in the baby. Hence, if they fail, the pregnancy should be terminated by surgical procedure like MVA aspiration.

You should follow all these procedures within legal boundaries of abortion in your country.

Visit your Gynaecologist ASAP; do not take any action of your own.
