How To Alleviate Running Nose Caused After A Pacemaker Surgery?
Good morning doctor! My brother in law had a bypass surgery in sep 2017 followed by pacemaker surgery in Nov 2017. Though he was becoming normal & regaining strength after bypass ,after pacemaker surgery he is not regaining strength like before. His nose runs whenever he walks only for 1o mins or takes tea or anything hot. I want know why he has developed this problem of running nose and what r the action points to get rid of it? Thanks & regards Mrs. Sengupta

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Running of nose is sign of allergy to something used after the surgery may be irritation of nasal mucosa during anesthesia or sedative &other medicines prescribed. Your brother in law needs treatment for that in form of avoidance of allergens, anti allergic drugs histamine blockers, whatever applies in his case. Please consult his cardiac surgeon for personalized advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
