How To Analyse Liver And Heart Condition In A Alcoholic Person?

i am married to a alcoholic who can drink 9 beers a night. after the first 3 or 4 beers he get this uncontrollable coughing... sometime he throw up... He on blood presser and diabetic meds and other. cant tell him anything.... is his liver and heart in trouble...

Thanks for writing to HCM.
It is unfortunate to note that you are married to an alcoholic.
Drinking 9 beers is not good for health. That is too much to tolerate for the body. He coughs and vomits because of gastric irritation it causes.
Since he is hypertensive and diabetic on medication, it will worsten his health if he continues to do so.
You need a proper evaluation to know weather his heart and liver is in trouble.
Kindly get the following investigations done and take Physician opinion regarding his condition.
1. Fasting and Post-prandial Plasma Glucose and HbA1c (Glycated hemoglobin) to know his diabetic status.
2. Liver function test to know about his functioning status of the liver.
3. ECG, Echocardiogram and Blood pressure to know the functioning status of heart.

Kindly get a Psychiatric counselling done as if this continues, he might be land up in serious trouble.
