How To Avoid Light Spotting Noticed During Pregnancy?
Hi...I'm 30yrs old, 5wks 1day prego with my 3rd child. I've taken 4 home prego test that were all positive & 2 at the health department yesterday before contacting my OB which is an hour away from my house, just to make sure. After having sex with my husband yesterday morning, I started to notice some light pink spotting when I wiped after going to the bathroom. It became a little more prominent as the day progressed & now, it's a darker red & after wiping I see blood dripping into the toilet. I don't if I should be concerned or not. I'm not having any cramping, but just worried. I've done some searching & have seen where some women have had implantation bleeding at 5weeks, but is it possible to have implantation bleeding after having positive prego tests? Or is it possible I'm having a miscarriage? Or is it nothing at all?
From the information you have given, am afraid i do not think it is implantational bleeding. Implantational bleeding is usually mild and not persistent.
There are other possibilities to consider such as -miscarriage -trauma of genital tract -infection
Miscarriage has to be ruled out. Common causes of miscarriages in first trimester include chromosomal defects and deficiency in progesterone. During pregnancy, vessels proliferate and any trauma could have increase bleeding. You need to see your Obstetrician to do a detail examination and some tests including an endovaginal ultrasound.
