How To Check If Hymen Is Intact?

My boyfriend and I recently tried to have sex for the first time and he was unable to penetrate me and the attempt was rather painful. I have normal periods, sometimes irregular cycles but not that irregular, maybe a few days off. I'm not sure how much of a hymen I have left because I'm not sure how to check. I'm rather worried if everything is shaped right down there.

I have read your description and understand your concern.
Checking for hymen can be done by means of vaginal examination by a qualified doctor.
The hymen can rupture in number of conditions and sexual intercourse is not the only mode of rupture. Also, a girls' virginity can't be assessed only by the presence of intact hymen.
It can rupture due to an injury.
However, most of the times, rupture of hymen is associated with bleeding.
Generally, absence of bleeding rules out an injury or rupture of hymen.
Kindly get yourself examined by a doctor to confirm about its status.
