How To Clean A Swollen Hard Spot After Pus Drainage From It?

I was punched in face about 3 days ago got a cut on edge of mouth and swollen hard spot on my cheek today I went from cold to hot pack and puss started draining out the hard spot softened up is this normal should I clean it with alcahol or something? thanks

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

There is definitely wound infection as indicated by pus formation.

If I was your treating doctor I would have started a course of oral antibiotics (penicillin group e.g Amoxycillin in combination with clavulanic acid) for a week.

Allow the pus to drain. You can use Betadine at the site of wound to cleanse the wound.
