Hi Salwa,
I understand quite well your concern
One of the problems with the medical termination of
pregnancy is bleeding because it is unpredictable. How heavy it is and how long it lasts varies from woman to woman. Some women find that the bleeding is a little heavier than a normal period and there may be some
blood clots too.
You may bleed heavily, moderately, lightly or not at all, for one to three weeks after the
abortion.
Some women do not start to bleed until several days after the abortion, some stop bleeding and then start again, some pass clots with strong cramps for several days. Don’t be surprised if four to five days after the abortion you experience increased cramping or bleeding. Your periods will normally start again between three and 12 weeks after an abortion.
In your case, based on what you refer, I suggest you to see a gynaecologist:
1.An
ultrasound can find if the termination of the pregnancy has happened completely or not. if it is not and your doctor suggests not to wait anymore, usually it is vacuum aspiration, when he will remove remaining tissue from the womb.
2. If it is terminated completely you may also undergo an internal examination to make sure there is no evidence of infection.
3. A
serum beta HCG ( pregnancy test) is not always suggested because the hormones leaves slowly the body after the abortion , so it can result positive, although the abortion has terminated the pregnancy.
Please see your gynaecologist and contact me again.
hope this is helpful to you
