hi,i m 37 weeks pregnant now,my elder sister has 2 girls,both born on 7th months(premature)elder girl is autistic and younger one is normal but her communication skills is not that good.my other sister has a boy who is 20 months old and had slow physical development(still can't walk by himself and his communication skills is also very slow)i m very worried about my baby weather he is gonna be normal healthy or have some problems?

Hi, I understand your concern. The birth anomalies/ mental & physical development defects in baby can arise either genetically or due to certain maternal conditions / infections during pregnancy. You can check for your babies normality by- - Triple / quad test of mother's serum- to exclude Dawn's syndrome, - Your thyroid function tests ,with specific treatment by endocrinologist if needful. - Chromosomal analysis- to have a genetic blue print of the fetus & detect/ exclude any abnormality. * In addition having regular pregnancy check ups/ taking a balanced ,nourishing diet with essential proteins, vitamins, calcium, iron, omega 3 fatty acids in proper time / Good respiratory exercises, your own psychological serenity & positivity will take care of good physical & mental development of baby.
