Hello,
If the intercourse was unprotected and happens to have occurred during the period of ovulation, only then is there a chance of pregnancy to happen. It is difficult to detect conception soon after unless basal body temperature was being charted from day one of the cycle, when the slight rise of temperature following ovulation persists if conception has occurred. Emergency contraception is the only way to prevent an unwanted pregnancy and an IUD is the preferred method since you have a child already. Hope this helps.
