How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Last period started- 24th June Ended on - 27th Period cycle- 26 days to 28 days We have had intercourse on 4th July but to avoid any chances of pregnancy she took ipill on 5th July abt 24 hrs later.on 12 th july, all of sudden she started with vaginal bleeding.we thought its a side effect of the pill.today is the 2nd day n still she is bleeding,just like normal bleeding.but this is about 12 days earlier. Our concern is: 1-is it early menstruation or just bleeding?2- will the next menstruation be on time or delayed? Is there any chance of pregnancy. Pls answer these queries n clear our doubt

Hello,
Since she has taken the emergency contraception, she is amply protected against conception. As the pill contains excess hormone, she has experienced a breakthrough bleed. The internal hormonal balance gets disrupted due to the pill and as a result, she can expect her next normal period to get delayed by a week or two. If she does not see her next normal period even ten days after it is due, it is time to get expert help and further management. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
