How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hi, I missed my period and I had a blood pregnancy test. My doctor said I would be about 3 weeks if it was positive. The test came back negative, but I feel I am pregnant. Can the test be incorrect? I still have not gotten my period. I am 45yrs old, can this be possible?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Actually blood pregnancy test gives earliest accurate results about pregnancy. You are already thinking of 3 weeks pregnant, but have -ve blood pregnancy test(HCG test).
HCg test indicates presence of Human chorionic gonadotrophin produced in pregnancy by the pre placenta ( Chorionic villi) / placenta of the fetus.Absence of HCG in blood after 3 weeks delay of periods clearly denotes NO CONCEPTION.False _ve is very very rare.
In such a case the possibilities of pregnancy like signs can be due to hormonal imbalance causing irregular menses as well as breast signs/other pregnancy like signs.
At 45 years of age this can either be due to hormonal imbalance which is correctable/ pre menopausal symptoms.You should visit your gynac for consulting about HRT ,if you intend to have it.
