Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello
I have gone through your question and understood your concern.

Hair loss is a typical and serious problem of hypothyroidism.
But as endocrinologist i can say that after some weeks of treatement, when the euthyroid state will be reached, nornally the hair loss will be eased and normalised.

Good decision, the consult with the dermatologist.
Minoxidil is a good treatement for excessive hair loss and helpful for hair regrowth.

In your circumstances, when your thyroid test results are normal and minoxidil has not been effective,my advice is to consult one more time your treating doctor for more investigations about your hair loss.
(tests for anemia or hormone abnormality such as excess male hormones known as androgens etc)

These are my suggestions for you:
You should continue your regular hair styling regimen.
Adopt a healthy lifestyle
Eat healthy
Drink plently of liquids.
Try to manage stress.
Wash your hair with an anti-dandruff shampoo that contains ketoconazole (an antifungal) or zinc pyrthione (an antifungal and antibacterial).

Hope this is helpful.
If you have other questions, feel free and ask.
Take care.
