How To Control Nose Bleeds?

My husband has been to emergency 3 times now in 2 days with bad nose bleeds. Was cauterized - didn't help, then had packing put in second visit, still bleeding on & off rather badly so went back to emerg where he was given antibiotics. Still bleeding on & off despite these. Live 45 min. from emerg. What to do next when can't see specialist probably for ages & emerg not helping & probably can't see family doctor for few days. Very worried the bleeding may become very serious.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Please dont worry , and meet a specialist , he will find out the cause for bleeding and treat it accordingly. The most common cause would be a high blood pressure and infections of the nose and sinuses and i would like you to get it checked by an ent doctor , If the bleeding has not stopped by packing then it is likely to be from behind the nose and this is typical of bleeding due to high blood pressure.
Please meet your doctor soon,
Thanks
