How To Control The Air Flow In Nose For A Trumpet Player?

So I am a trumpet player and have been playing for at least 3 years. Within the past year I've noticed when I blow harder to play louder, I can't keep the air from coming out of my nose or leaking out. I tried also blowing up a balloon but the same result, I just cant keep the air from leaking anymore. Help?

Although i cant tell you for sure but you may be having what is called, velopharyngeal insufficiency , which means weakness of the muscles of your palate which is a structure on the roof of your mouth. there can be various reasons for this and you will have to be examined by your ent doctor before any diagnosis can be made.
